Master Bond Polymer System EP21ARHT-1 is a two component epoxy novolac resin compound for durable high performance adhesives, sealants and coatings with outstanding chemical resistance and remarkably high thermal stability. The EP21ARHT-1 compound is formulated to cure quickly at ambient temperatures and very fast at elevated temperatures with a convenient two-to-one non-critical mix ratio by weight. It offers a degree of chemical resistance and thermal stability together with speed of cure capability unmatched by any other currently available room temperature or heat curing composition. The Master Bond EP21ARHT-1 composition can successfully withstand, for example, long term exposure to strong mineral acid solutions and vapors at elevated temperatures e.g. 200°F and above, thus making it a prime candidate for adhesives, sealants, coatings, and liners for chemical piping, storage tanks, scrubbers, chemical processing equipment etc. This remarkable epoxy novolac resin based compound also features excellent long term resistance to fuels, oils, ethanol, lubricating compounds and many active organic solvents.
Master Bond Polymer System EP21ARHT-1 is 100% reactive, does not contain any solvents or diluents and cures with minimal shrinkage to a tough thermoset plastic. It readily develops a high bonding strength of more than 2500 psi at room temperature to both metallic and non-metallic substrates which unlike that of many other epoxy resin compounds, is relatively insensitive to mixing ratio and/or substrate cleaning procedures. Master Bond Polymer System EP21ARHT-1 can be applied without sagging or dripping on inclined or vertical surfaces. It produces exceptionally durable, high performance, tough, high strength coatings, liners and adhesive/sealants with outstanding acid as well as chemical and solvent resistance which are likewise remarkably resistant to thermal cycling over the wide temperature range of -60°F to +400°F. Adhesion to metals, glass, ceramics, cements, wood, vulcanized rubbers and many plastics is excellent. Dimensional stability of the cured thermoset plastic is outstanding indeed.
The electrical insulating characteristics and thermal expansion coefficients are desirable indeed for use in demanding applications. Color of part A is black, part B amber. This epoxy resin compound is widely used in the construction, maintenance and repair, chemical process, metalworking appliance and electrical/electronic industries wherever durable, high performance, tough adhesives, sealants, coatings and liners with outstanding acid, chemical/solvent resistance, thermal stability and quick cure are required.
