Master Bond Polymer System EP36-2 Product Description

MASTER BOND POLYMER SYSTEM EP36-2
One Component Liquid Epoxy Resin Based Electrically Insulative Polymer Compound For High Performance Potting, Encapsulation, Sealing, Coating And Bonding Featuring Prolonged High Temperature Service (400°-500°F) Capability, Long Shelf Life At Ambient Temperatures
And Fast Cures at 200°F-350°F

Master Bond Polymer System represents a truly remarkable technical advance in the field of electrical insulation materials offering the first easily processable one component semi-solid epoxy resin based compound with high flexibility, outstanding electrical insulation and mechanical properties at elevated temperatures of 400°F-500°F. The Master Bond Polymer System EP36-2 is the first commercially available semi-solid flexible one component electrical insulation compound featuring a desirable long shelf life, easy processability, and fast cures at elevated temperatures. The cured product exhibits high flexibility, superior strength, and excellent chemical resistance, over a wide temperature range of -65°F to 500°F. It fully passes Class H insulation requirements and such rigid US government specifications as MIL-T-27E, Class U.

EP36-2 is a semi-solid that should be stored at ambient temperatures to insure optimum shelf life. Use only the amount of material necessary for your specific application. Heat to 175°F stirring occasionally, which will result in an easily flowable material. Recommended heat cure temperatures are 250°F to 350°F.

Master Bond Polymer System EP36-2 is 100% reactive and does not contain any volatiles upon cure. The cured polymer composition has a tensile strength in the order of 4600 psi and an elongation of as much as 115-130% depending on specific curing conditions. Flexural strength exceeds 6500 psi. Volume resistivities have been measured to exceed 1012 ohm/cm. Dielectric strength is reported at 600v/mil. Dielectric constants are 3.8 (60 cycles) and 3.7 (1000 cycles. ). Most importantly the pertinent electrical insulation and mechanical strength properties exhibit less than 10% change in the magnitude of their values after 10,000 hours exposure at 180°C! Typical product properties are summarized in table #1 below.
