Master Bond Polymer System EP42HT is a room temperature curable two component epoxy adhesive, sealant, coating and casting material featuring high temperature resistance and outstanding chemical resistance. It is widely used, particularly in medical products, because it is capable of withstanding repeat sterilization including radiation, ethylene oxide, chemical sterilants, and steam sterilization. In addition, it fully complies with the testing requirements for USP Class VI plastics. Aside from being a superior adhesive, sealant and coating, EP42HT is castable to thicknesses exceeding 3-4 inches. EP42HT cures readily at ambient or more quickly at elevated temperatures even in the presence of moisture. The cured epoxy compound is resistant not only to various types of sterilization, but also to inorganic and organic acids, alkalis, many organic solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, etc. EP42HT is an excellent electrical insulator. Especially noteworthy is its serviceability up to 435°F combined with being relatively impervious to intermittent exposures to steam. Aside from its widespread use in the medical industry, EP42HT is also used in electronics, electrical, fiberoptic and optical as well as OEM type applications among others.
