The Master Bond EP42LVLP epoxy resin system is 100-/. reactive, low viscosity, hard, tough, chemically resistant compound for high performance casting, coating and bonding. It is readily prepared for use by mixing the resin (A) and the hardener (B) components with a noncritical 100 to 50 weight ratio. The mixed low viscosity composition can be applied in a wide range of thicknesses for coatings and bonds 5 mils thick and less to castings with cross section thicknesses of several inches. The Master Bond EP42LVLP cures completely with minimal shrinkage at ambient temperatures and in the presence of moisture. The cured castings, coatings and bonds feature high physical strength properties, a remarkable degree of thermal stability and excellent resistance to water, inorganic and organic acids, alkalis, many organic solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, gasoline and other fuels etc. Successful applications include high performance castings for the potting and encapsulation of electronic, optical and mechanical components; marine, pipe and tank casings, adhesives for metal and polymeric parts which are exposed to various chemicals in use etc.
