Master Sil 771 silicone PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) system exhibits excellent high and low temperature resistance, and electrical insulation properties far superior to organic PSA's. It adheres readily to a wide variety of substrates, including Teflon, and can withstand temperatures of over 200C. With the addition of fillers such as mica flakes or glass fibers, they have been used as fire resistant wire coatings. Pressure sensitive tapes have been produced by coating Master Sil 771 onto Kapton, Teflon or fiberglass. Master Sil 771 exhibits a good balance of adhesive and cohesive strength. It is most often catalyzed with benzoyl peroxide for applications where maximum strengths and thermal stabilities are desired.
