Master Bond UV10PSA is a new one component pressure sensitive UV curable polymer system for high performance coatings, adhesives and sealants with exceptionally fast response to UV radiation. It is 100% reactive moderate viscosity liquid at ambient temperatures which does not contain any solvents or other volatiles. When exposed to a source of UV light, Master Bond Polymer System UV10PSA produces durable pressure sensitive, tough, excellent electrical insulation properties. Maximum absorption of UV energy takes place in the 250-360 nanometer range. The cured adhesives, sealants and coatings can be used over an exceptionally wide temperature range. A higher viscosity version is available upon request.
Unlike many other commercially available UV curing products, the Master Bond Polymer System UV10PSA is not oxygen inhibited and exhibits a desirably fast curing rate at ambient temperatures even in the presence of air. The Master Bond Polymer System UV10PSA can be cured in various section thicknesses.
Master Bond Polymer System UV10PSA can be cured in very short periods depending upon type of UV lamp, distance of the lamp from the surface of the UV10PSA, thickness of the section, etc. Typical cure times range from as little as 10 seconds to 1-2 minutes at ambient temperatures. 200 watt/inch medium pressure mercury vapor lamps are recommended. No solvents or other volatiles are released during the curing process. Cured adhesives, coatings and/or sealants feature a desirable combination of pressure sensitivity, toughness and shock resistance, as well as excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates ranging from different plastics to paper and textiles. Impact resistance is superior. The storage stability of the Master Bond Polymer System exceeds 6 months under usual storage conditions in the original containers.
