Master Bond Polymer System X5SC Silver
is a novel, highly cost effective, one component, electrically conductive,
elastomer based adhesive/sealants for EMI/RFI shielding and related
applications. It offers superior shielding
over a wide frequency range, superior environmental resistance and excellent
long term durability at a surprising modest cost.
Master Bond electrically conductive adhesive/sealant
X5SC features uniquely favorable adhesive properties and can be
easily applied to most surfaces including metals, ceramics, glass, rubbers, plastics,
paper, wood, leather, concrete and stone, generally without the need for pretreatment. Application
methods encompass use of air or airless spraying equipment, brushing, dipping
and silk screening. Uniform continuous coatings characterized by high electrical
conductivity and superior electromagnetic shielding effectiveness are readily
formed which are highly resistant to weathering, abrasion, humidity and corrosion.
Master Bond Polymer Systems X5SC Silver one component
electrically conductive adhesive/sealant cures readily at ambient temperature
(tack free time 15-20 minutes, full cure overnight) or more quickly at outstanding
toughness, good elevated temperatures (45 minutes to 1 hour at 140-150°F). The
cured material exhibits environmental resistance and superior physical strengths
as well as high electrical conductivity.
The Master Bond Electrically conductive X5SC is composed
of superior oxidation and chemically inert high purity metal particles. The
conductive particles have excellent heat dissipation characteristics and will
not oxidize even when exposed for prolonged periods of time to an oxidizing environment. The
service temperature range of the Master Bond X5SC adhesive/sealant
is remarkably broad, from -80°F to + 300°F. It
can be used directly from the container as no catalyst, accelerators, etc., have
to be added. Viscosity can be adjusted so as to best meet specific application
requirements with solvents such as toluene or xylene. Storage
stability in original closed containers at ambient temperatures is 3 months.
