Why Use UV Cure Adhesives?
UV cure adhesives offer many advantages over conventional bonding compounds. These formulations are single component and require no weighing or mixing prior to use. Environmentally safe, they emit no volatiles or vapors during cure. They remain stable, even after prolonged storage, at room temperature until exposed to a UV light source. This eliminates pot life problems. Remarkably fast curing with standard UV cure equipment these systems will greatly enhance productivity and eliminate waste. In most applications cure speeds within a couple of seconds is common. This removes transient thermal exposures when adhering heat sensitive substrates.
UV curing adhesives have excellent bond strength to metals, glass, ceramics, plastics and rubbers. Parts can be precisely aligned and then cured on demand. Bonds are durable, possess superior electrical insulation properties, have low shrinkage and are high temperature and chemically resistant. They are available in a variety of viscosities, flexibilities and index of refractions, etc. They are presently employed in the medical, electronic, optical, photonic, automotive and other industries. Applications range from bonding lenses, voice coils, magnets, syringes and catheters to alternators, LEDs, headlamps, sensors, wire tacking and connectors.
