New White Paper: Polymeric Systems Bring Clarity to Optical Applications
image
Many optical assembly applications require optical clarity across a certain wavelength, while others need an opaque coating. Optical grade epoxies, silicones and UV curable coatings provide the versatility to adhere well to a wide variety of substrates and the critical performance properties to meet specific requirements. This white paper examines optical transmission, refractive indices, temperature and humidity testing, as well as the roles of these measurements in choosing an effective and reliable optical polymer system.

Adhesive, Sealant and Coating Offers High Transparency
image
Optically clear silicone adhesive/sealant, MasterSil 415, is widely employed for its reliable performance for bonding, and sealing metal and most plastics where transparency is a critical factor. It has a paste viscosity that will not sag, slump or run off surfaces. It cures at ambient temperatures to a flexible rubbery solid when exposed to atmospheric moisture. Serviceability is from -185°F to +400°F.
