EP40NDMed

Master Bond EP40NDMed is a two part epoxy for bonding, sealing, and coating. This non-drip system has a forgiving 1:1 mix ratio by weight or volume. It is formulated to cure readily at ambient temperatures or more rapidly at elevated temperatures. The optimum curing schedule is overnight at room temperature followed by 2-3 hours at 120°F to 150°F. EP40NDMed is 100% reactive and contains no solvents or diluents.

EP40NDMed is a superb adhesive and bonds well to a variety of substrates including metals, ceramics, composites and plastics. This epoxy has a strong affinity for bonding engineered plastics such as polycarbonates and acrylics. EP40NDMed is a toughened system capable of withstanding rigorous thermal cycling and shock. It is a reliable electrical insulator. It can be applied in thicker sections because it is a relatively low exothermic system. Most importantly, it has good chemical resistance to liquid sterilants such as glutaraldehyde, as well as EtO, gamma radiation and similar type sterilants. The color of Part A is translucent and Part B is amber. The service temperature range is -100°F to +250°F.

EP40NDMed is a viable candidate for medical applications because of its very easy handling, long open time, paste consistency, and resistance to common sterilants. It is especially useful when substrates are acrylics or polycarbonates, as these plastics tend to be more sensitive to stress cracking with rigid epoxies.
