Utilizing advanced LED technology, Master Bond has developed a breakthrough adhesive system that can also be used as a sealant, coating and encapsulation material. Master Bond LED401 is unique in that it cures completely tack-free upon exposure to a 405 nm wavelength LED light source. This one part system requires no mixing and will cure rapidly—15-30 seconds in thinner sections.

A lower viscosity version of the standard system, LED401LV offers excellent flow properties and is very easy to handle. Since it is an LED based system, it is more user friendly than one requiring UV light for curing, as LED light emitting sources are considered to be safer than UV ones. It has exceptional optical clarity and light transmission properties. Adhesion to metals, glass and many plastics, including polycarbonates and acrylics, is outstanding.

One of the most unique features of LED401 White is its opaque white color which adds a special dimension to light initiated curing systems, since nearly all are either transparent or tinted with dyes. Even though it is a different color, this system offers users the same advantages as the rest of the products in the LED family. Once cured, it has excellent dimensional stability, superb electrical insulation properties and very good chemical resistance.

This one component LED system fully passes the plastics test for USP Class VI biocompatibility and ISO 10993-5 cytotoxicity requirements. LED403Med resists sterilization methods, including gamma radiation, ETO and various chemical sterilants. It fully cures upon exposure to a 405 nm wavelength light that is generated by an LED system and where the presence of any UV light is minimal or incidental.
