Master Bond EP46HT-2Med

Master Bond EP46HT-2 is a two component medical grade epoxy for high performance structural bonding and casting applications. It features exceptional heat resistance with a glass transition temperature greater than 220°C and a service temperature range of -100°F to +500°F. This USP Class VI approved system is able to withstand repeated cycles of various sterilization methods including radiation, chemical sterilants and autoclaving. Some additional product advantages include:
  • Convenient mixing: product properties relatively unaffected by small changes in mix ratio of 100:30 by weight
  • High bonding strength to similar and dissimilar substrates
  • Superior durability to thermal shock and vibration
  • 100% reactive, does not contain any solvents or diluents, excellent dimensional stability
  • Excellent electrical insulation properties even upon prolonged exposure to hostile environments

Glass Transition Temperature

glass-transition_300x203When a polymer system such as an epoxy adhesive, potting compound or sealant is heated, significant changes occur in mechanical strength properties and thermal, electrical and chemical resistance which do not necessarily recover upon cooling. While these changes generally take place over a limited temperature range, a single temperature called the glass transition temperature (Tg) is generally selected for convenience.
