Master Bond polymer adhesive EP72M4 is a two component, highly flexible epoxy system for bonding, sealing, and coating. This high viscosity system has a very user friendly one to one mix ratio by weight or volume with an exceptionally long open time of 5-7 hours. EP72M4 will cure at room temperature in 3-5 days. An alternative curing schedule is overnight at room temperature followed by 3-4 hours at 135-150°F. EP72M4 does not contain any solvents or diluents and has very low shrinkage upon curing.
EP72M4 bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, glass, composites, rubbers, and many plastics. It features high bond strength in both peel and shear modes. Since it is a flexible system it is particularly well suited for bonding dissimilar substrates. It withstands rigorous thermal cycling as well as thermal and mechanical shocks. EP72M4 has good resistance to water, oils and fuels. It is a reliable electrical insulator.
The standard color of Part A is translucent and Part B is amber, although other colors are available. A non-drip version called EP72M4ND is also available. Master Bond EP72M4 is most likely to be used in aerospace, electronic, optical and specialty OEM applications when a highly flexible, high viscosity epoxy with the set of properties mentioned above is beneficial.
