Toughened, One Component Epoxy Features High Bond Strength and Cryogenic Serviceability

Combining simple handling properties with high strength, Master Bond Supreme 10HTF-1 is a single part adhesive/sealant for a variety of applications in the aerospace, electronic, optical, specialty OEM and related industries. At room temperature, this smooth paste system has an “unlimited” working life and cures rapidly at elevated temperatures. For example, typical cure schedules for Supreme 10HTF-1 are 5-10 minutes at 300°F or 15-20 minutes at 250°F.

Supreme 10HTF-1 delivers impressive physical strength values for tensile lap shear, tensile and T-peel of >3,200 psi, 6,500-7,500 psi and 20-25 pli, respectively. This system bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, composites, glass, ceramics, rubbers and many plastics. It has very low shrinkage upon curing, is dimensionally stable and has a Shore D hardness >70. As a toughened system, Supreme 10 HTF-1 is capable of withstanding rigorous thermal cycling as well as mechanical shock and vibration.

Supreme 10HTF-1 offers cryogenic serviceability over the wide temperature range of 4K to +400°F. The adhesive resists an array of chemicals such as water, fuels, acids, bases and many solvents. Also, it is a reliable electrical insulator. Volume resistivity is 1013 ohm-cm.

This compound is gray, but other colors are available. Supreme 10HTF-1 is available in standard packaging ranging from ½ pint to 5 gallon containers as well as specialty packaging including cartridges and syringes.

Thermally Conductive, Electrically Insulative One Part Epoxy for Die Attach Applications

Formulated for die attach applications, Master Bond Supreme 3HTND-2DA is a fast curing, high performance one component epoxy system. It cures in 5-10 minutes at 150°C and has unlimited working life at room temperature. It is available in syringes and has a shelf life of 6 months when stored at 40-50°F.

Supreme 3HTND-2DA has a die shear strength of 19-21 kg-f and performed very well in 85/85 testing. This epoxy has excellent adhesion to metals, ceramics and silicon dies. It is serviceable over the wide temperature range of -100°F to +400°F. As a toughened system, it offers the ability to withstand rigorous thermal cycling and shock.

In accordance with die attach application requirements, this product passes NASA low outgassing test specifications. Supreme 3HTND-2DA has low ionics, particularly chlorine (<15 ppm). It also features dimensional stability, superior thermal conductivity, electrical insulation properties and a glass transition temperature of 100-105°C.

Unlike many other die attach systems, Supreme 3HTND-2DA is not premixed and frozen, but it requires refrigeration for storage. This system dispenses smoothly or without any tailing. It well suited for automatic dispensing equipment. With a viscosity of over 300,000 cps (thixotropic), it can be applied to a defined area without running.

NASA Low Outgassing Approved, One Component Epoxy Features a Glass Transition Temperature of 225°C

Formulated to operate over the wide temperature range of -80°F to +650°F, Master Bond EP17HT-LO is a one part epoxy for bonding, sealing, coating and encapsulation applications. This low viscosity system has very low exotherm upon curing and can be cast in sections up to and beyond a ½ inch in thickness. As a single component system, it offers convenient handling, doesn’t require mixing and has an unlimited working life at room temperature.

EP17HT-LO is a high performance material with a high tensile, compressive and lap shear strengths of 10,000 psi, 20,000 psi and 3,200 psi at room temperature, respectively. This epoxy bonds well to an array of substrates including metals, composites, ceramics and plastics. Shrinkage upon cure is exceptionally low. EP17HT-LO is 100% reactive and contains no solvents or diluents.

This formulation resists chemicals such as acids, bases, fuels, salts, oils and many solvents. It also is a competent electrical insulator and retains these properties even when exposed to elevated temperatures. The compound passes NASA low outgassing tests making it well suited for applications in the aerospace, opto-electronic, oil/chemical processing and specialty OEM industries. This tan colored, no mix epoxy system is available for use in a variety of sizes ranging from ½ pint to 5 gallon containers.

One Part Epoxy Resists up to 500°F and Meets NASA Low Outgassing Specifications

Master Bond Supreme 12AOHT-LO is a one component epoxy for a variety of bonding and sealing applications in the aerospace, electronic, electro-optic and OEM industries. This system fully passes ASTM E595 testing for NASA low outgassing and is well suited for vacuum environments.

As a toughened epoxy, Supreme 12AOHT-LO resists rigorous thermal cycling and shocks over the wide service temperature range of 4K to +500°F. It offers high thermal conductivity of 9-10 BTU•in/ft2•hr•°F and is a competent electrical insulator.

It bonds well to an array of substrates including metals, composites, glass, rubbers, ceramics and many plastics. This compound delivers high tensile lap shear, compressive and peel strengths exceeding, 3,500 psi, 22,000 psi and 5-10 pli, respectively. It is dimensionally stable and has low shrinkage upon cure. Supreme 12AOHT-LO is resistant to a variety of chemicals, particularly to water, oil, fuels and solvents.

Supreme 12AOHT-LO is a thixotropic paste with a smooth consistency that is easy to handle. As a single component epoxy, it doesn’t require any mixing and offers an “unlimited” working life at room temperature. It cures rapidly at elevated temperatures. This gray colored system can be stored at ambient temperatures, but maximum shelf life is achieved when it is refrigerated at 45-55°F. Supreme 12AOHT-LO is available in syringes, ½ pints, pints, quarts, gallons and 5 gallon containers.

Optically Clear UV Curable System Offers High Bond Strength and Fast Cures

Specially formulated to optimize bond strength, Master Bond UV15-42C is a UV curable system for bonding, sealing and coating applications. This smooth paste can be applied vertically without sagging. As an optically clear compound, it is often used in the fiber-optic, optical, electronic, aerospace and specialty OEM industries.

This one part system bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including glass, metals, composites, rubbers and most plastics. Adhesion to acrylic and polycarbonates is exceptional. UV15-42C also features a tensile strength of 5,000-6,000 psi and a tensile modulus of 250,000-300,000 psi at room temperature. Its toughness enables it to withstand thermal cycling as well as mechanical shock. UV15-42C is also resistant to chemicals such as water, oils, cleaning agents, acids and bases.

It cures readily in 10-30 seconds upon exposure to a UV light source emitting a 320-365 nm wavelength with an energy output of 20-40 milliwatts/cm2. UV15-42C is not oxygen inhibited and will cure in thicknesses up to ¼ inch. This electrically insulative, dimensionally stable system has low shrinkage upon curing.

UV15-42C is serviceable from -65°F to +300°F and is available for use in syringes and cartridges. It can also be purchased in ½ pint, pint and quart containers.

One Component, Snap Cure Epoxy Features High Strength Properties

Suitable for a variety of applications in the electronic, aerospace and OEM industries, Master Bond EP3SP5FL is a single component epoxy that cures in 1-2 minutes at 300°F. Since it requires heat curing, it essentially has “unlimited” working life at room temperature.

With a flowable, moderate viscosity, EP3SP5FL adheres well to a variety of substrates including metals, composites, glass, ceramics, many rubbers and plastics. It has a high tensile lap shear strength exceeding 2,000 psi at room temperature when bonding aluminum to aluminum. EP3SP5FL is an effective electrical insulator and it withstands thermal cycling, impact and shock. It also resists water, oils, fuels and has low shrinkage upon curing.

The service temperature range for this system is -60°F to +200°F. At ambient temperatures, EP3SP5FL has a hardness greater than 85 Shore D, but it softens above 200°F to 25-30 Shore D. This characteristic can allow the epoxy to be more readily reworkable than most other epoxy systems.

EP3SP5FL is available in syringes, ½ pints, pints and quarts containers. It has a minimum shelf life of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months in its original, unopened containers.

Thermally Conductive, Electrically Insulative One Part Epoxy for Bonding, Sealing and Glob Top Applications

Featuring the combination of electrical insulation properties and thermal conductivity, Master Bond Supreme 3HTND-2GT can be used for a variety of applications including bonding, sealing, glob top and die attach. This toughened epoxy system bonds well to a wide variety of substrates used in electronics, including metals, composites, ceramics and many plastics.

As a one component system, Supreme 3HTND-2GT does not require mixing and features a thicker viscosity with limited flow characteristics. Unlike many epoxies it can be readily and efficiently applied to a defined area. It cures quickly in 20-30 minutes at 250°F or in 5-10 minutes at 300°F with very low shrinkage. Supreme 3HTND-2GT can cure in thicknesses of up to 1/8 inch if needed.

Additionally, this dimensionally stable system is capable of withstanding rigorous thermal cycling and shocks. Thermally stable, the service temperature range for this system is first rate at -100°F to +400°F. It resists chemicals rather well, including water, acids, bases and many solvents. Particularly noteworthy is its low level of ionic impurities.

Supreme 3HTND-2GT is yellowish tan in color and is available in a variety of packaging including syringes, cartridges, pints, quarts and gallon containers.
