Gap filling, seam sealing compounds provide protection against corrosion, good adhesion and prevent air/water leakage. These products are designed for metal, glass reinforced plastic, polycarbonate, polyurethane and other surfaces. They are frequently employed for internal/external seams between panels. Elastic formulations absorb vibration, shock and impact.

Nameplate Attachment

Master Bond offers many cost effective options for nameplate attachment. Key considerations are size, shape, thickness and type of substrates being bonded. Also of prime importance is the service conditions in which attached nameplate will be exposed to. This includes outdoor exposures, temperature cycling, abrasion, moisture/chemical contact.

Toughened, One Component Epoxy Features High Bond Strength and Cryogenic Serviceability

Combining simple handling properties with high strength, Master Bond Supreme 10HTF-1 is a single part adhesive/sealant for a variety of applications in the aerospace, electronic, optical, specialty OEM and related industries. At room temperature, this smooth paste system has an “unlimited” working life and cures rapidly at elevated temperatures. For example, typical cure schedules for Supreme 10HTF-1 are 5-10 minutes at 300°F or 15-20 minutes at 250°F.

Supreme 10HTF-1 delivers impressive physical strength values for tensile lap shear, tensile and T-peel of >3,200 psi, 6,500-7,500 psi and 20-25 pli, respectively. This system bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, composites, glass, ceramics, rubbers and many plastics. It has very low shrinkage upon curing, is dimensionally stable and has a Shore D hardness >70. As a toughened system, Supreme 10 HTF-1 is capable of withstanding rigorous thermal cycling as well as mechanical shock and vibration.

Supreme 10HTF-1 offers cryogenic serviceability over the wide temperature range of 4K to +400°F. The adhesive resists an array of chemicals such as water, fuels, acids, bases and many solvents. Also, it is a reliable electrical insulator. Volume resistivity is 1013 ohm-cm.

This compound is gray, but other colors are available. Supreme 10HTF-1 is available in standard packaging ranging from ½ pint to 5 gallon containers as well as specialty packaging including cartridges and syringes.

Two Component Epoxy with Ultra Low Thermal Resistance and Superior Electrical Insulation Properties

Featuring special high thermal conductive fillers, Master Bond EP48TC is two part epoxy paste that can be applied in bond lines as thin as 10-15 microns. This material offers exceptionally low thermal resistance of 5-7 x 10-6 K•m2/W, which imparts impressive heat transfer capabilities and thermal conductivity of 20-25 BTU•in/ft2•hr•°F [2.88-3.60 W/(m·K)]. It can be used in applications in the aerospace, electronic, optical, specialty OEM and many other high-tech industries.

EP48TC has a tensile lap shear strength ranging from 900-1,100 psi and bonds well to a wide variety of substrates, including metals, composites, glass, ceramics and many plastics. Even in thin sections, its strength retention is outstanding. It also has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, low shrinkage upon curing and excellent dimensional stability.

EP48TC has a forgiving 100 to 40 mix ratio by weight, or 100 to 50 mix ratio by volume. The working life for a 100 gram batch at 75°F is 90-120 minutes. The epoxy cures at room temperature or more quickly at elevated temperatures. It is serviceable over the temperature range of -100°F to +300°F. The color of Parts A and B is gray. EP48TC is available in standard packaging ranging from ½ pint to 5 gallon container kits.

Two Component Flame Retardant Epoxy Developed for Aerospace Industry

Developed primarily for specialty aviation applications, Master Bond EP90FR-V is a two part epoxy system that passes the vertical burn test portion of the FAR standard 14 CFR 25.853(a) for flame retardancy. This enables it to be used in aviation applications including interior panels, door frame lining and floor/door assemblies.

EP90FR-V has a convenient one to one mix ratio by weight and a moderate viscosity of 20,000-40,000 cps. This system is suitable for bonding, sealing, coating, potting and encapsulation applications. It bonds well to a variety of substrates including metals, composites, glass, ceramic and many plastics. As a non-halogenated type system, EP90FR-V has an excellent environmental profile, which allows easy handling. It is also a reliable electrical insulator.

EP90FR-V is serviceable over the temperature range of -60°F to +250°F. Chemical resistance to water, fuels, oils and many common solvents is outstanding. Its Shore D hardness is greater than 75. This system is color coded, which facilitates mixing. The color of Part A is black, Part B is white and the cured material is gray. For ease of application, it can be packaged in guns, FlexiPaks® and premixed and frozen syringes. It is also available in standard packaging including ½ pint, pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon container kits.

Optically Clear, Low Viscosity Epoxy Features a Long Open Time at Room Temperature

Master Bond EP62-1LPSP delivers an array of strength, electrical and handling properties that are well suited for bonding, sealing, coating and encapsulation applications. With a tensile lap shear strength exceeding 2,000 psi, it bonds well to a variety of substrates including metals, composites, glass and many plastics.

This optically clear epoxy has a non-critical four to one mix ratio by weight and features an open time of 12-24 hours at ambient temperatures. EP62-1LPSP has a thin mixed viscosity of 150-300 cps, which can be further lowered by adding heat. Its low exotherm while curing allows it to be used for large encapsulations. It offers a variety of cure schedules and can be cured at temperatures as low as 60-70°C. Faster cures can be achieved at 125°C.

Featuring a glass transition temperature of greater than 125°C, EP62-1LPSP is a thermally stable system that is serviceable over the wide temperature range of -60°F to +400°F. It withstands exposure to chemicals such as water, fuels, oils, solvents, acids and bases. EP62-1LPSP is a reliable electrical insulator and has a volume resistivity over 1014 ohm-cm. This blend of high performance properties allows this product to be used in aerospace, electronic, fiber-optic, optoelectronic and specialty OEM applications.

EP62-1LPSP is available for use in standard ½ pint, pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon kit containers. It can be applied by brush, paint roller, syringe or gun dispenser.

Two Part, Room Temperature Curing Epoxy Features Ultra Low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion

Master Bond EP42HT-2LTE is often chosen for a variety of bonding, sealing, coating and select casting applications in the electronic, aerospace, optical and specialty OEM industries. This two component epoxy has a flowable paste consistency that enables precise alignment with minimal fixturing. It cures at room temperature or more quickly with the addition of heat.

This system is notable for having a low coefficient of thermal expansion of 9-12 x 10-6 in/in/°C. With a tensile lap shear strength of over 1,200 psi, it bonds well to a wide variety of similar and dissimilar substrates, including metals, composites, ceramics, glass and many plastics. EP42HT-2LTE features superior electrical insulation properties, chemical resistance and dimensional stability over the wide service temperature range of 4k to +300°F. It also offers low linear (<0.01%) and volumetric (<0.1%) shrinkage upon curing, which is useful for potting and encapsulation applications.

Featuring a light cream color, EP42HT-2LTE is prepared using a non-critical 100 to 40 mix ratio by weight or a 100 to 50 mix ratio by volume. After mixing a 100 gram batch, its working life is 60-90 minute open time. This product is available in standard packaging with sizes ranging from ½ pint to 5 gallon kits.

Low Viscosity UV Curable System Has Superior Non-Yellowing Properties

Well suited for bonding dissimilar substrates, Master Bond UV15X-2 is a one part UV curable adhesive, sealant, coating and potting compound. This versatile system combines a high performance physical profile with very low shrinkage upon curing. It is widely employed in fiber-optic, optical, electronic, microelectronic, semiconductor and laser applications.

With a tensile strength of 6,000-7,000 psi, UV15X-2 bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including glass, metals, ceramics and many plastics, especially polycarbonates and acrylics. It features impressive light transmission properties and has a refractive index of 1.51. This low viscosity system is not oxygen inhibited and cures readily in 10-30 seconds when exposed to a UV light source. The rate of cure depends upon the compound’s distance from the light source, the thickness of the section and the intensity of the light source. No solvents or vapors are released during the curing process. UV15X-2 can also be readily cured in sections up to ¼ inch thick.

Serviceable over the wide range of -80°F to +300°F, UV15X-2 is able to withstand rigorous thermal cycling. It resists many chemicals, such as water, oils, fuels, acids and bases. Other notable characteristics include reliable electrical insulation values, dimensional stability and abrasion resistance. UV15X-2 is available in a variety of standard packaging options from ½ pints to 5 gallon units. It can also be purchased in syringe applicators.

NASA Low Outgassing Approved, One Component Epoxy Features a Glass Transition Temperature of 225°C

Formulated to operate over the wide temperature range of -80°F to +650°F, Master Bond EP17HT-LO is a one part epoxy for bonding, sealing, coating and encapsulation applications. This low viscosity system has very low exotherm upon curing and can be cast in sections up to and beyond a ½ inch in thickness. As a single component system, it offers convenient handling, doesn’t require mixing and has an unlimited working life at room temperature.

EP17HT-LO is a high performance material with a high tensile, compressive and lap shear strengths of 10,000 psi, 20,000 psi and 3,200 psi at room temperature, respectively. This epoxy bonds well to an array of substrates including metals, composites, ceramics and plastics. Shrinkage upon cure is exceptionally low. EP17HT-LO is 100% reactive and contains no solvents or diluents.

This formulation resists chemicals such as acids, bases, fuels, salts, oils and many solvents. It also is a competent electrical insulator and retains these properties even when exposed to elevated temperatures. The compound passes NASA low outgassing tests making it well suited for applications in the aerospace, opto-electronic, oil/chemical processing and specialty OEM industries. This tan colored, no mix epoxy system is available for use in a variety of sizes ranging from ½ pint to 5 gallon containers.

One Part Epoxy Resists up to 500°F and Meets NASA Low Outgassing Specifications

Master Bond Supreme 12AOHT-LO is a one component epoxy for a variety of bonding and sealing applications in the aerospace, electronic, electro-optic and OEM industries. This system fully passes ASTM E595 testing for NASA low outgassing and is well suited for vacuum environments.

As a toughened epoxy, Supreme 12AOHT-LO resists rigorous thermal cycling and shocks over the wide service temperature range of 4K to +500°F. It offers high thermal conductivity of 9-10 BTU•in/ft2•hr•°F and is a competent electrical insulator.

It bonds well to an array of substrates including metals, composites, glass, rubbers, ceramics and many plastics. This compound delivers high tensile lap shear, compressive and peel strengths exceeding, 3,500 psi, 22,000 psi and 5-10 pli, respectively. It is dimensionally stable and has low shrinkage upon cure. Supreme 12AOHT-LO is resistant to a variety of chemicals, particularly to water, oil, fuels and solvents.

Supreme 12AOHT-LO is a thixotropic paste with a smooth consistency that is easy to handle. As a single component epoxy, it doesn’t require any mixing and offers an “unlimited” working life at room temperature. It cures rapidly at elevated temperatures. This gray colored system can be stored at ambient temperatures, but maximum shelf life is achieved when it is refrigerated at 45-55°F. Supreme 12AOHT-LO is available in syringes, ½ pints, pints, quarts, gallons and 5 gallon containers.
