Low Viscosity, One Part Cyanoacrylate Is Non-Toxic and Meets ISO 10993-5 Specifications

Master Bond MB250NT is widely used for a variety of applications ranging from repair to high speed production for disposable/reusable medical devices and passes ISO 10993-5 testing requirements. It also resists EtO and gamma sterilization processes.

This single component ethyl cyanoacrylate cures rapidly depending upon the atmospheric humidity—the higher the level, the faster the rate of cure. There is no mixing or heating required for curing. Since the cure is usually fast, only minimal contact pressure is required for bonding. MB250NT will typically set up within 10-40 seconds. It has a low viscosity of 100-110 cps.

Featuring high tensile laps shear strength values, MB250NT bonds well to a variety of substrates especially metals, composites, most plastics and rubbers. The service temperature range for this system is -60°F to +250°F. It has a shelf life of about 6 months in its original, unopened containers.

Optically Clear, Condensation Curing Silicone Offers Superior Dielectric Properties

Developed for potting and encapsulation applications where an addition cured silicone cannot be used, Master Bond MasterSil 152 is a two component, condensation curing system that only requires air for complete cross-linking. Unlike addition cured systems, there are no substrates that will inhibit the cure.

This system fully cures at room temperature in 24-48 hours and has low exotherm. MasterSil 152 features low shrinkage upon curing. It has a ten to one mix ratio by weight and delivers a long working life of 6-8 hours after mixing.

MasterSil 152 combines low viscosity and electrical insulation properties with the ability to cure in sections exceeding one inch in thickness, making it well suited for potting and encapsulation. Widely used in electronic and optical components, it is optically clear and can transmit light well from 220-2,500 microns. It has an index of refraction of 1.45.

As is typical for silicones, MasterSil 152 is also highly flexible and can withstand thermal cycling and shock. It is highly resistant to water and is serviceable over the broad temperature range of -65°F to +400°F. This potting and encapsulation compound has a 6 month shelf life at room temperature in its original, unopened containers. It is available in ½ pint, pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon container kits.

Two Component, Thermally Conductive Epoxy Resists High Temperatures

Formulated for bonding and sealing applications, Master Bond EP46HT-1AO is widely used in the aerospace, electronic and specialty OEM industries. Unlike most conventional two component epoxies, EP46HT-1AO cures with the addition of heat, which allows it to have a working life exceeding 24 hours. It has a forgiving 100 to 30 mix ratio by weight and bonds well to metals, composites, glass, ceramics and many plastics.

EP46HT-1AO combines thermal conductivity and electrical insulation properties. This dimensionally stable system provides a tensile strength over 7,500 psi, a compressive strength of 26,000 psi and a tensile lap shear strength greater than 1,500 psi at room temperature. EP46HT-1AO also withstands a variety of chemicals including oils, water, acids, bases and solvents.

This unique compound is serviceable over the temperature range of -73°C to +288°C (-100°F to +550°F) and offers a glass transition temperature of 215°C. It should be noted that EP46HT-1AO is relatively exothermic and should not be cured in sections greater than 20-30 thousandths of an inch thick and a bondline thickness is typically 2-7 thousandths of an inch.

This epoxy is available in ½ pint, pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon container kits. Part A of this system is tan in color and Part B is moderately dark brown. EP46HT-1AO has a 6 month shelf life at ambient temperatures in original, unopened containers.

Adhesives Resist Exposure to UV Light

Master Bond formulates a variety of solvent free adhesives, sealants and coatings that offer reliable, long term protection against photodegradation. These compounds contain UV stabilizers and antioxidants that prevent cracking, chalking, discoloration and loss of physical, strength properties.

Optically Clear UV Curable System Offers High Bond Strength and Fast Cures

Specially formulated to optimize bond strength, Master Bond UV15-42C is a UV curable system for bonding, sealing and coating applications. This smooth paste can be applied vertically without sagging. As an optically clear compound, it is often used in the fiber-optic, optical, electronic, aerospace and specialty OEM industries.

This one part system bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including glass, metals, composites, rubbers and most plastics. Adhesion to acrylic and polycarbonates is exceptional. UV15-42C also features a tensile strength of 5,000-6,000 psi and a tensile modulus of 250,000-300,000 psi at room temperature. Its toughness enables it to withstand thermal cycling as well as mechanical shock. UV15-42C is also resistant to chemicals such as water, oils, cleaning agents, acids and bases.

It cures readily in 10-30 seconds upon exposure to a UV light source emitting a 320-365 nm wavelength with an energy output of 20-40 milliwatts/cm2. UV15-42C is not oxygen inhibited and will cure in thicknesses up to ¼ inch. This electrically insulative, dimensionally stable system has low shrinkage upon curing.

UV15-42C is serviceable from -65°F to +300°F and is available for use in syringes and cartridges. It can also be purchased in ½ pint, pint and quart containers.

One Component, Snap Cure Epoxy Features High Strength Properties

Suitable for a variety of applications in the electronic, aerospace and OEM industries, Master Bond EP3SP5FL is a single component epoxy that cures in 1-2 minutes at 300°F. Since it requires heat curing, it essentially has “unlimited” working life at room temperature.

With a flowable, moderate viscosity, EP3SP5FL adheres well to a variety of substrates including metals, composites, glass, ceramics, many rubbers and plastics. It has a high tensile lap shear strength exceeding 2,000 psi at room temperature when bonding aluminum to aluminum. EP3SP5FL is an effective electrical insulator and it withstands thermal cycling, impact and shock. It also resists water, oils, fuels and has low shrinkage upon curing.

The service temperature range for this system is -60°F to +200°F. At ambient temperatures, EP3SP5FL has a hardness greater than 85 Shore D, but it softens above 200°F to 25-30 Shore D. This characteristic can allow the epoxy to be more readily reworkable than most other epoxy systems.

EP3SP5FL is available in syringes, ½ pints, pints and quarts containers. It has a minimum shelf life of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months in its original, unopened containers.

Thermally Stable, Two Part Epoxy Meets NASA Low Outgassing Specifications

Master Bond EP30-3LO is a two component epoxy system offering optical clarity, high temperature resistance, and NASA low outgassing approval. This combination of properties enables it to be suitable for bonding, sealing, coating and encapsulation applications in the aerospace, electronic, optical and optoelectronic industries.

This epoxy has a glass transition temperature exceeding 175°C. It also withstands many chemicals, particularly water, oils, acids, bases and solvents over the wide service temperature range of -80°F to +450°F. Often selected for potting applications, EP30-3LO features a low viscosity and reliable electrical insulation values.

With a non-critical 100 to 30 mix ratio by weight, this compound cures with the addition of heat ranging from 250-350°F. As it requires oven curing, EP30-3LO has a long pot life of 6-10 hours at room temperature. It bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, glass, composites and many plastics and rubbers.

EP30-3LO delivers a 1 year shelf life in its original, unopened containers. It is available in standard packaging ranging from ½ pint to 5 gallon kits.
