New Tough, Resilient Adhesive Resists High Impact

Master Bond EP72M3 is a two component, tough, resilient elastomer modified epoxy adhesive for high performance general purpose bonding.

It is formulated to cure at room temperature or more rapidly at elevated temperatures with a convenient one to one mix ratio, weight or volume. Bonds are resistant to thermal cycling and chemicals including water, gasoline, oils, greases and other petroleum products.

Master Bond EP72M3 has exceptionally high impact resistance and peel strength. Adhesion to metals, glass, ceramics, wood, vulcanized rubbers and many plastics is excellent. The hardened adhesive is an electrical insulator. EP72M3 has a Shore A hardness of 78 and T-peel of >30.

Master Bond EP72M3 is available in pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon container kits. For ease of usage it is also available in syringes and gun applicators.

Rapid Curing Epoxy Adhesive Has High Flexibility

Master Bond EP51FL is a new two component, highly flexible epoxy resin system developed by Master Bond Inc., Hackensack, N.J. for high performance bonding. EP51FL has a 1 to 1 mix ratio, weight or volume. It cures rapidly at room temperature and has a setup time of 30-40 minutes. Cure speeds can be accelerated by the use of heat. It is a 100% reactive system and no solvents or volatiles are emitted during cure.

Master Bond EP51FL has excellent bond strength to many different substrates including metals, glass, ceramics, wood, various rubbers and most plastics. The cured compound exhibits a remarkably high peel strength of more than 25 pli along with an elongation of >125%. It has superb electrical insulation properties and outstanding resistance to many chemicals. Particularly noteworthy is its ability to withstand thermal and mechanical shocks.

EP51FL has a service operating temperature range of 4K to 250°F. It is recommended for use in cryogenic applications. It has a Shore D hardness of 12-15 and a Shore A hardness of 55-60. EP51FL exhibits a tensile strength of 1,150 psi.

Master Bond EP51FL has a mixed viscosity of 70,000-80,000 cps and is easy to apply. A paste version called EP51FLND is also available when a "non-drip" system is required. EP51FL is available for use in pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon kits. It can also be obtained in syringe and gun applicators.

New Room Temperature Curing Epoxy Resists Sterilization

Master Bond Inc. of Hackensack, New Jersey has introduced a new room temperature curing, two component epoxy adhesive, sealant, coating and casting material called EP42HT-2. This compound features high temperature resistance along with outstanding chemical resistance. It is widely used in medical devices because of its ability to withstand repeated sterilizations, including radiation, ethylene oxide, chemical sterilants and steam. In addition it fully complies with the testing requirements of USP Class VI plastics.

EP42HT-2 has a 100 to 40 mix ratio by weight or a 100 to 50 mix ratio by volume. It cures readily at room temperatures or more quickly at elevated temperatures. It has a mixed viscosity of 3,500 cps and is castable in thicknesses exceeding 2-3 inches. EP42HT-2 has a service operating temperature range of -60°F to +450°F. It has superior resistance to inorganic and organic acids, alkalis, organic solvents and aromatic hydrocarbons.

Master Bond EP42HT-2 has a tensile strength >12,000 psi and a tensile modulus of >450,000 psi. Its Shore D hardness is >75. Especially noteworthy are its excellent electrical insulation properties. It has a volume resistivity of >1014 ohm-cm and a dielectric constant of 3.8 (60Hz).

Master Bond EP42HT-2 is available in pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon container kits. It is also available in syringe applicators.

New Epoxy Adhesive Resists High Temperatures

A unique two component, room temperature curing, high temperature resistant epoxy adhesive called EP35 has been introduced by Master Bond Inc., Hackensack, N.J. This system produces high strength bonds whose strength is maintained even after long exposures to temperatures in the 450°F-500°F range. It has a 100 to 70 mix ratio by weight and can be applied without sagging or dripping even on vertical surfaces.

Master Bond EP35 produces durable and tough bonds which are remarkably resistant to thermal cycling and chemicals including water, oil and most organic solvents. It has a service operating temperature range of -60°F to 450-500°F. Adhesion to metals, glass, ceramics, wood, vulcanized rubbers and many plastics is excellent.

EP35 is 100% reactive and does not contain any diluents or solvents. Only contact pressure is required during cure. It is available in pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon pail container kits.

High Temperature Resistant Epoxy Has Exceptional Thermal Conductivity

Master Bond Inc. of Hackensack, New Jersey has introduced a new high performance, room temperature curing, two component epoxy adhesive/sealant called EP34AN. This compound features a thermal conductivity of 22-24 BTU/in/ft²/hr/°F. Physical properties are maintained even after long exposure to temperatures in the 400-450°F range. EP34AN has superb dimensional stability and a low coefficient of expansion. It also exhibits superior electrical insulation properties.

Master Bond EP34AN has a 100 to 70 mix ratio by weight. It is easy to mix and can be applied without sagging or dripping even on vertical surfaces. The adhesive/sealant spreads smoothly and only contact pressure is required for cure. It is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or diluents. Cures can be accelerated by the use of heat.

Its tensile modulus is >500,000 psi.

Aluminum Filled Epoxy Available For Enhanced Machinability

A new room temperature curing, aluminum filled two component epoxy adhesive called EP22 has been introduced by Master Bond Inc. Hackensack N.J. This system has an easy to use one to one mix ratio by weight or volume. It produces durable high strength and tough bonds with outstanding adhesion to metals, particularly steel and aluminum. Bonds are remarkably resistant to thermal cycling and chemicals including water, oil and most organic solvents.

Master Bond EP22 is readily and easily machinable. It has good void filling properties. It can be employed over the wide service operating temperature range of -60°F to more than 250°F. Shrinkage upon cure is low and dimensional stability is high.

EP22 is gray color. Cures of EP22 can be accelerated by use of heat. It is available for use in pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon container kits.
