Non-Drip, One Component Silicone Offers High Temperature Resistance, Thermal Conductivity and Electrical Isolation

Placing an emphasis on convenient handling, Master Bond MasterSil 705TC features a paste consistency that doesn’t require mixing. This single component system sets up in 7 minutes and has a non-corrosive cure at room temperature when exposed to atmospheric humidity.

Suitable for a variety of bonding, sealing and coating applications, MasterSil 705TC delivers thermal conductivity of 14 BTU·in/(h·ft²·°F) or 2.1 W/m·K and retains its electrical insulation properties. This system can also withstand temperatures ranging from -60°F to 400°F. It adheres well to metals, composites and many plastics. As a silicone based system, MasterSil 705TC is also flexible and offers a degree of reworkablity.

This off-white colored silicone is available in 130 gram (100 cc) tubes and has a shelf life of 6 months at room temperature.

Dimensionally Stable Two Component Urethane Modified Epoxy Gel Is Thermally Conductive

Primarily used for potting and encapsulation applications, Master Bond Super Gel 9AO is a soft, urethane modified gel-like epoxy that offers thermal conductivity and electrical insulation properties. This two part system is also employed for bonding and sealing as it adheres well to a variety of substrates including metals, glass, ceramics and many rubbers and plastics.

With a low hardness of 20-30 Shore A, Super Gel 9AO is able to encapsulate sensitive electronic components. Expensive parts are retrievable by cutting the compound with a sharp knife or razor blade. This process can be conducted without the compound shattering. This softness allows it to withstand thermal cycling as well as thermal and mechanical shock. It is serviceable from -100°F to +200°F and resists chemicals such as water, oils and fuels.

Super Gel 9AO has a 2 to 1 mix ratio by weight or volume and has a low to moderate viscosity. This system offers a working life of 6-8 hours at room temperature, depending on the quantity that is mixed. It cures at room temperature with little exotherm, enabling it to be cast several inches thick.

This light gray colored system is available for use in standard packaging from ½ pints to 5 gallon container kits and in specialty packaging with gun dispensers and syringes. Super Gel 9AO is currently used in the aerospace, electronic, optical, electro-optical and other specialty industries.

Toughened Two Component Epoxy Is Optically Clear and Resists Thermal Cycling

Master Bond EP38CL was developed for bonding, sealing, coating and encapsulation applications that require toughness and durability. With a Shore D hardness exceeding 75, its toughness is a unique property that imparts resistance to rigorous thermal cycling, impact and mechanical shock.

EP38CL cures at room temperature or more quickly at elevated temperatures and has low shrinkage upon curing. This low viscosity, two part epoxy has a 100:60 mix ratio by weight and a working life of 40-50 minutes. It bonds well to a variety of substrates including metals, ceramics, glass, composites, many rubbers and plastics. EP38CL features a tensile lap shear strength of 2,500 psi, a compressive strength of 8,000 psi and a tensile strength of 7,500 psi at room temperature.

Additionally, EP38CL is optically clear with a glossy appearance. It is serviceable from -60°F to +250°F. This electrically insulative compound is used in optical, aerospace, opto-electronic and specialty OEM applications. It is available for use in standard packaging options ranging from ½ pint to 5 gallon kits as well as premixed and frozen syringes.

Adhesives for Bonding Magnets

Tough, durable Master Bond structural epoxy adhesives offer cost effective solutions for magnet assembly applications. These solvent free compounds are available in a variety of viscosities, have quick set-up times and are designed to be easily dispensed. They prevent corrosion, feature high strength properties and resist exposure to impact, vibration and shock.

Epoxy Compounds Get Even Tougher

With adhesive products, high performance and rigidity are often thought to go hand in hand. And it is true that the very best strength, thermal, chemical and electrical properties tend to be found in rigid compounds, especially epoxies. Yet there is a growing class of adhesives, sealants and coatings that add ductility to the long list of desirable epoxy properties. Master Bond’s white paper examines the use of these toughened epoxies.
