Master Bond Polymer System EP42HTND is a room temperature and/or heat curable thixotropic two component epoxy compound for adhesive, sealant, coating and casting applications featuring high temperature resistance and outstanding chemical resistance. It is widely used, particularly in assemblies which require superior chemical and/or heat resistance because it is capable of withstanding prolonged exposure to many hostile enviromental conditions and a wide range of service temperatures up to 400°. In addition, it fully complies with the testing requirements for USP Class VI plastics. Aside from being a superior adhesive, sealant and coating, EP42HTND is castable to thicknesses exceeding 2-3 inches. EP42HTND cures readily at ambient or more quickly at elevated temperatures even in the presence of moisture. The cured epoxy compound is resistant not only to various temperature changes, but also to exposure to inorganic and organic acids, fuels, lubricants and oils as well as alkalis, many organic solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, etc. EP42HTND is an excellent electrical insulator. Especially noteworthy is its serviceability up to 400°F combined with being quite resistant to intermittent exposures to steam. Aside from its widespread use in the industrial and chemical industries, EP42HTND is also used in electronics, electrical, fiberoptic and optical as well as OEM type applications among others.
