One Component, High Performance Flexible UV Curable Polymer System For Coatings, Adhesives and Sealants Up to A Thickness of 1/4" & More!

Master Bond UV14X2 is a new one component flexible UV curable polymer system for high performance coatings, adhesives and sealants with exceptionally fast response to UV radiation. It is 100% reactive moderate viscosity liquid at ambient temperatures which does not contain any solvents or other volatiles. When exposed to a source of UV light, Master Bond polymer System UV14X2 produces durable, tough non-yellowing and chemically resistant coatings and adhesives and sealants with excellent electrical insulation properties. Maximum absorption of UV energy takes place In the 250-360 nanometer range. The cured coatings, adhesives and sealants can be used over the exceptionally wide temperature range of -60°F to +300°F.

Unlike many other commercially available UV curing products, the Master Bond Polymer System UV14X2 is not oxygen inhibited and exhibits a desirably fast curing rate at ambient temperatures even in the presence of air. The Master Bond Polymer System UV14X2 can be cured in much greater section thicknesses compared to the typical commercial UV curing polymer systems now on the market. Thus UV14X2 can be easily cured in thicknesses up to 1/4" and more, making it of value for various electronic and optoelectronic potting/encapsulation applications. This performance characteristic is due to its uniquely effective catalyst system.

Master Bond Polymer System UV14X2 can be cured in very short time periods depending upon type of UV lamp, distance of the lamp form the surface of the UV14X2 thickness of the section of the UV14X2 to be used, etc. Typical cure 200 watt/inch medium pressure mercury vapor lamps are recommended. Curing line speeds as high as 500ft./minute and more have been obtained for thin films of the UV14X2 polymer system. No solvents or other volatiles are released during the curing process. Cured coatings, adhesives and/or sealants feature a desirable combination of outstanding durability, toughness and thermal shock resistance as well as excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates ranging from different plastics to textiles and leather. It may also be used as a flexibilizing additive in clear coatings on wood, metal and other rigid substrates. Impact resistance is superior. The storage stability of the Master Bond Polymer System exceeds 6 months under usual storage conditions in the original containers.
