UV15-7DC Product Description

Master Bond Polymer System UV15-7DC is a new one component, optically clear, non-yellowing UV and/or heat curable polymer system for high performance adhesives, sealants and coatings. It is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or other volatiles. When exposed to a source of UV light of adequate wave length and intensity it cures quickly to produce durable, tough, non-yellowing and chemically resistant adhesives, sealants & coatings with excellent electrical insulation properties. The UV cured polymeric material can be employed over the wide service temperature range of -60°F to +300°F. Master Bond UV15-7DC can also be heat cured at 250-260°F to give equivalent performance properties.

Unlike many other commercially curable UV curing products, the Master Bond UV15-7DC system is not inhibited by air and exhibits a desirable fast UV curing rate at ambient temperatures even in section thicknesses of 1/8" and more. Cure time depends on the type of UV lamp, distance of the lamp from the surface of the UV15-7DC, thickness of the section to be cured, etc. Typical cure times range from as little as 5 seconds to 2-3 minutes at ambient temperatures. 200 Watt/ inch medium pressure mercury vapor lamps or equivalent UV light sources are recommended. Maximum UV absorption takes place in the 280-360 nanometer range. No solvents or vapors are released during the curing process. Typical heat curing schedules are 10-30 minutes at 250-260°F. Cured adhesives, sealants or coatings exhibit a most desirable combination of properties including outstanding durability, toughness, thermal shock resistance as well as excellent adhesion to many different substrates ranging from glass, metals, plastics, polyester films and polycarbonates. The storage stability of the UV15-7 Polymer System is 6 months under usual storage conditions in original unopened containers. Laboratory tested for 1000 hrs @ 85°C/85% humidity.
